About Brenda

I'm Brenda Braxton
Tony Award–nominated, Grammy Award–winning actress, singer, dancer, author, and entrepreneur. For decades, my life has unfolded under the bright lights of Broadway, where I had the honor of performing in legendary productions including Chicago, Smokey Joe's Café, Cats, and Guys and Dolls. Those stages shaped me—teaching me discipline, resilience, and how to command a room with grace, grit, and glamour.
My career also extended beyond the stage into television, with appearances on series such as Nurse Jackie, Smash, and The Good Fight. Throughout it all, I've been recognized not only for my talent, but for my commitment to authenticity—showing up fully, truthfully, and unapologetically as a woman evolving in real time.
But my story didn't end with applause.
As I moved through my 50s and into my 60s, I found myself navigating menopause while still performing, traveling, mentoring, and leading. What struck me most wasn't the transition itself—it was how little space existed for women like me in wellness, travel, and lifestyle conversations. We were either overlooked, whispered about, or treated clinically—rarely honored.
That moment became my turning point.
I founded PAUSE by BBRAXTON to turn a deeply personal experience into a movement. PAUSE is a lifestyle and wellness brand designed by women over 40, for women over 40—created to redefine what it means to age on purpose, in style, and without shame.
Through PAUSE by BBRAXTON, I've brought to life offerings that didn't exist when I needed them most:
- PAUSE Travel Cases—luxury, TSA-friendly wellness kits thoughtfully curated with perimenopause and menopause essentials for women on the go
- The PAUSE Subscription Box—a quarterly delivery of self-care products, educational tools, and affirmations designed specifically for midlife women
- The vision of PAUSE Lounges—calming, curated airport sanctuaries that center midlife wellness in high-stress travel environments
- The PAUSE Retreat—a curated wellness experience created for women in midlife who are ready to rest, reset, and rise—without apology
Each of these offerings reflects my belief that women don't need to slow down—we need better support.
Today, I stand firmly in my Act 2
Not as a reinvention, but as an expansion. I am a performer, a builder, an advocate, and a voice for women who refuse to become invisible. Menopause isn't an ending—it's a powerful beginning.
PAUSE by BBRAXTON is my encore.
And I'm just getting started.
